HELLRAISER HISTORY

      I founded Hellraiser Tackle in the Summer of 1989.  After chasing Muskies through High School and College, I saw a definite need for some new products to help improve the odds of MAN vs. MUSKY.  Some of the problems with tackle at that time was poor quality components - lack of split rings - small screw eyes or hook hangers, etc.  Lures were mainly made of Pine, Balsa, other softwoods, or plastic - most of which paint did not hold to very well.  To top it all off, many of these lures were priced over $10.00, and wouldn't last through a few fish without falling apart.  I decided to build all Hellraiser products out of the finest components available, including through wire construction, double split rings on 2x Mustad Hooks, large  Stainless Steel Eye Screws, and 2 part Marine Epoxy Sealer - Primer - Paint - Clear Coat.  We also make all of our lures out of the best Kiln Dried Hardwoods available - Cherry Wood or Rock Maple.  By building a lure this way, it was easy to offer an Unconditional Lifetime Warranty on all Lures that we make.

       In addition to the most durable construction, we also offer some of the most lifelike and unique lure actions out.  My degree in Industrial Design from UW Stout - and thousands of hours testing and tinkering have helped create a line of extremely productive lures.  The Cherry Bomb is weighted internally for complete neutral buoyancy, making it one of the only suspending twitch baits.  The Cherry Twists Delta Blade configuration makes an irresistible chatter.  The Mini-Cherry Twist was designed to slowly sink at rest, so it can be run slightly subsurface to "Bulge" the water.  With a normal or fast retrieve it runs with all blades  churning the surface.  The Wood Tick's action combines that of an up-down and side to side jerk bait in a single lure.  The Spazm is the only single rear bladed "Plopping" type surface lure with a free floating blade - not imbedded in a  wood or plastic turning mechanism.  This makes it extremely versatile when changing lure speed you get different noises.  Our newest creation is the Bear Claw - the first "Bucktail" with a body.  It is also the first lure made out of Bear Hair.  Bear Hair has ten times the action of Bucktail in the water because it is solid like human hair - not stiff and hollow.  The Bear Claw is quickly becoming one of the most productive lures on the market today.  Our seven types of Leaders feature Ball Bearing Swivels.  They also have no weakening Crimps -  but the connections are twisted and heat welded for a more durable hold.

       One thing you will never see from Hellraiser -  -  -  -  copies of other lures.  All Hellraiser Lures are original in design.  In addition to Musky Bass and Pike, our lures work great for many other species including Saltwater fish. 

      To keep the quality under tight control, we do everything under one roof.  Starting from wood planks we turn out all of our own lure bodies, do all the body prep like drilling holes - adding lead - sanding, painting, assembly, and packaging.  We are a family run business with my wife Sue and our Children pitching in to help with all the many steps needed to make a lure.
